Xtreme Gardening CalCarb works as a foliar spray booster source of calcium and carbon dioxide. Both are critical to your plant development, contributing to the strength of cell membranes and regulation of nutrient use. Calcium plays a significant role in the quality of many crops and can also reduce the effects of heat stress in plants.
CalCarb is a unique form of a simple compound containing calcium and carbon. Calcium carbonate or CaCO3 is used in agriculture throughout most of the world to adjust soil pH levels. But CalCarb is an unusual form of calcium carbonate that is highly unstable, rapidly converting to calcium oxide (CaO) and carbon dioxide (CO2) when applied to the foliage. This unique phenomenon increases calcium availability to plants through the foliage. Still, more importantly, the CO2 levels directly outside and inside the stomata can rise threefold, which is near the optimum for photosynthesis efficiency.
Benefits
-
It is a great way to supplement Calcium and CO2 directly to the foliage of your plants.
-
It increases plants' ability to withstand environmental stressors like heat and drought by strengthening the cell walls of the foliage.
-
It assists with the production of photosynthesis and helps prevent blossom end rot.
Usage -
Mix with water and apply to the stomata of plants every two weeks through vegetative and early flower stages.
-
Avoid fruiting and flowering bodies.
Established Plants: -
Add 1 tsp per quart (liter) of water into the sprayer, and mix well. Then spray the foliage, focusing on the underside of plant leaves.
-
Repeat it weekly
Note, Calcarb leaves a beneficial white residue of natural calcium. It has to be rinsed off after 36 hours, but letting it go will achieve the best results.
Flowering & Fruiting Plan: -
Add 2 tsp per quart (liter) of water. Mix well and add to the sprayer. Then spray focusing on "pop-shots" on the underside of the outermost leaves.
-
Calcarb need only be applied to 6-12 leaves, and no need to saturate the entirety of foliage.
Compatibility -
Perfect to use on vegetables, fruits, herbs & flowers.
